COVID-19 is the short name for “COrona VIrus Disease 2019.” It started in the year 2019. The disease is caused by a tiny germ, or virus. Scientists call it SARS-CoV-2. Most people just call it the “new coronavirus.”

Farmers and farm workers go to work every day to grow and harvest our fruits and vegetables. They milk the cows. They feed the chickens and gather the eggs. The good food we eat begins with the farm helpers!

If someone needs to get to the hospital quickly, there is a phone number to call: 9-1-1. The helper who answers the phone can call an ambulance. An ambulance is a van used to carry people who are sick or injured. They can take people to hospitals.
